Our Crowdfunding Groups
Advancing WVU is a crowdfunding platform to help members of the WVU community raise money to advance education, research and patient care at WVU – including those focused on student groups, student experiences, athletics, or healthcare initiatives.
How are these projects chosen?
The WVU Foundation annual giving staff will review project applications and approve them based on project essentials: team commitment, project appeal and goal achievement potential.
What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is the practice of soliciting financial contributions from a large number of people especially from the online community and through social media channels. Crowdfunding connects donors to specific projects they have an interest in funding.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! The WVU Foundation, Inc. is an independent, tax exempt, 501(c ) (3) charitable organization (Tax ID 55-6017181). Your official gift receipt will be sent via email or by U.S. mail within a few days.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site. A charge from the WVU Foundation will appear on your credit card statement.
Where is my donation going?
Your donation will go directly to the project you chose to support.
