WVU ASCE competes annually in the Concrete Canoe Competition in the ASCE Virginias Conference. For the past few years we have been bettering our team with new mix designs, canoe practice, and innovating new methods for casting the canoe mold! Last year the team took second place in regionals and was entered into the wildcard drawing for nationals in Florida. Sadly we did not make it, but this year we are still shooting for the top!
WVU AISC competes annually in the Student Steel Bridge Competition in the AISC Virginias Conference. WVU has had a long record of success in terms of the design and competing against rival schools in the area. During last year's competition WVU AISC took 1st Place out of 11 teams and 6 out of 7 awards in various categories. At nationals, the team came in ranked 35th out of 37 and ended the day being 27th out of the competition. We are eager to see the competition this year and work hard to reclaim our place at the top!
