Help Provide Suture Kits For Our Nursing Students!

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed higher education at the WVU School of Nursing and beyond. Much of our students’ coursework has moved online, including many laboratory courses that require specialized equipment previously provided to students on campus.

In order to perform lab work, post-graduate students pursuing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification need immediate access to individual suture kits at home. These kits cost $155 each, creating yet another financial burden for students who have faced many economic challenges – and hurdles to higher education – caused by the pandemic.

The estimated cost to provide suture kits to all current FNP students is $6,500. In the interest of ensuring that all students can continue their advanced-practice training, please consider a timely contribution to help supply the necessary suture kits to FNP students at no cost to them. Chair Natalie Bush and her husband, Wes, are leading by example with a 2-for-1 match for every suture kit donated. Your generous gift will not only alleviate the stress of an additional expense for FNP students but also demonstrate the Advisory Board’s confidence in their future professional success.
