Again thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate to the Southern NJ scholarship fund.
Last Thursday night (7/13/2017), we held the Southern NJ Student Summer Send-off that was attended by approximately 100 students, parents and siblings. We provide them with a nice little send-off, including a lot of important information. But more importantly we wanted to welcome them to WVU and let them know why it's a great school. One of the many highlights was President Gee calling students, via facetime to wish them well. Do you know of any other college President that would do that for students? I don't!
We also had the current WVU Student body President (Blake Humphrey) and Mountaineer (Troy Clemons) give students great advice, including helping the sing Country Roads for the first time. Singing of Country Roads can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/266464946712909/
The best part for parents is the entire cost of the event was picked up by our Alumni Chapter and Parent's Club via funds raised from the break buses we run at Thanksgiving, Semester and Spring Break.
We would love to meet and exceed our $2,500 goal before the start of school (8/16/2017) and if everyone would consider donating just $18.67 (WVU founding Year) or $25, we could easily reach our goal. We have a lot of talented students from Southern NJ going to WVU and its our goal to help put scholarships in place to help them pay for it.
Remember, all donations are tax deductible and will benefit students from the Southern NJ area.
Thank you.
