The West Virginia Innocence Project aims to get wrongfully convicted West Virginians out of prison. The goal of this fundraising project is to raise money for our legal fellow, named after Justice Franklin D. Cleckley, who passed away earlier this year. The Justice Franklin D. Cleckley Fellowship is a two-year position with the West Virginia Innocence Project, and is a partnership between the WVU College of Law and the University of Chicago Law School. Through the fellowship, a recent graduate committed to serving the public interest has the opportunity to represent indigent prisoners wrongfully convicted of crimes. Under the supervision of the WVIP’s director, the Fellow litigates claims of actual innocence in state and federal courts, and does outreach to the West Virginia legal community.
Your donation will help keep the fellowship going. Any funds will go directly to help that program run, and to ultimately aid our innocent clients. Please consider making a gift today, all donations would be helpful in aiding the WVIP.
Thank you in advance for your support!
